Jonathan Farrington

Confident, vibrant and innovative are just a few words to describe Bahamian gospel sensation “Jonny” Jonathan Farrington. Passionate about the arts at a young age he was always active in school plays, concerts, musicals and recitals. While attending high school, his passion for

music propelled him even further in the eyes of others and soon he was nominated Vice President of his high school’s choir and unanimously chosen as the tenor section leader. As a lead vocalist he regularly performed at governmental, societal and church events. In 2007 he entered The Bahamas National Arts Festival singing competition and won the gospel title for Best Male Vocalist.

At the age of 17 he joined the illustrious Bahamas National Youth Choir, where he received vocal training from director Mr. Cleophas Adderley in genres such as Jazz, Opera, Negro Spirituals, Rhythm and Blues. As a member of the choir, Farrington was afforded the opportunity to travel extensively to countries such as the USA, Europe, South Africa and the Caribbean Islands representing the Bahamas as a Cultural Ambassador.

After parting from a secular, all male group called, “No way out”, Farrington entered and won the popular reality T.V show, BTC Star Maker. He was given the roll as BTC’s first voice spokes person for the year 2010. Shortly thereafter, Farrington became a lead vocalist in the Gospel Ensemble, “Shaback”, which is directed by Clint Watson. In the midst of his transformation from secular to gospel music, Farrington realized that there was a higher calling on his life, so he purposed to devote his music as a message of hope that would uplift and transform lives.

As a result of his hard work and dedication to his music, in May of 2012, Farrington hosted his first album release concert featuring International Gospel Recording Artist, Kierra “Kiki” Sheard. As the concert highlight, Farrington released his first hit radio single entitled “We Need You” from his E.P Album “It’s Time For Me”, produced by Elevation Records. At the age of 22, Farrington continues to develop and enhance his fresh and diverse sound and is currently working toward the release his full length album project.
